Lady Rams 2 Antwerp 0

The Lady Rams came into the final conference game of the season needing a win against the Archers and help from Edgerton, who hosted the Lady Apaches, to tie Fairview atop the GMC standings.

Unfortunately for Tinora, Fairview defeated Edgerton 7-2, thus, Fairview wins the GMC title for the 2023 season.

What the Lady Rams and coach Fairchild did get was a dominating performance in the circle by the reigning GMC Player of the Year, Scylea Zolman and just enough offense to get by the Archers, 2-0.

Zolman improved to 12-2 as she lowered her ERA to .71, allowed just two hits over seven innings, striking out 14 Archer hitters in the complete game win.

The Tinora offense, which had scored double-digit runs in 4 of their last 6 games, were held to just two runs on eight hits by the Archers Lydia Krouse.

The only runs in the game came in the bottom of the fourth inning. Tinora’s Zoe Roesti remained hot as she hit another solo homerun, giving the Lady Rams a 1-0 lead.
Tinora added another run in the fourth, making it 2-0, with one out as Maren Pittman hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Scylea Zolman who had previously singled.

Zolman retired the Archers over the next two innings for the win.

Tinora improves to 13-4 with the win. The Lady Rams finish the GMC season at 6-1. Tinora will host Archbold on Tuesday.

Antwerp falls to 8-9, 2-5 in conference play.

The Higbea Embroidery Player of the Game went to Scylea. Great job again, Scylea!
