Lady Rams 11 Paulding 1

The Tinora Lady Rams entered the start of the GMC season in defense of their league crown while also trying to get the train back on the tracks as they welcomed in a very talented Paulding Panthers softball club.

After starting the season at 2-0, the Lady Rams dropped their next two games to Defiance and then a very good Elmwood team, coach Fairchild was looking for a spark to ignite the Lady Rams bats.

Tinora sent Skylea Zolman to the circle, while the Panthers of Paulding sent freshman Tia Mendez.

The Panthers drew first blood as they scored a single run in the second to grab an early 1-0 lead on the road.

After struggling to score through the first four games, the Lady Rams bats finally game to life as they plated 11 runs in an 11-1 win over the Panthers.

It was the Paige show in the second inning. Tinora started their scoring in the second, as they tied the game at 1-1 as Paige Carpenter drove in Paige Gamby,

The Lady Rams would add two more runs in the third. Logan McQuillin reached on an error, then scored as Scylea Zolman tripled. Tinora led 2-1. Zolman would score on a Gamby single, putting the Rams up 3-1 after three.

Tinora would make it 4-1 in the fourth as two out Tegan Norden single would knock in Zoe Roesti from second base.

The Lady Rams bats would explode for seven runs in the sixth, bringing home an 11-1 win.

Maren Pittman would start the scoring after being hit to start the inning. Anna Frazier followed with a single, putting two runners on. Tegan Norden would load the bases on an infield single. Logan McQuillin would make it 6-1 as she would knock in Pittman and Frazier.

Tegan Norden and Logan McQuillin would score on a Zolman fielders choice, making it 8-1 in the sixth.

Tinora would add two more, leading Paulding 10-1. Zolman and Gamby scored on a Zoe Roesti grounder.

The Lady Rams would end the game as Paige Carpenter would score run 11 on a Tanae Smith sacrifice fly.

Tinora improved to 3-2, 1-0 in the GMC and will travel to Wauseon on Saturday in a DH.

Paulding falls to 1-2, 0-1 in the GMC. The Panthers travel to Edon on Saturday.

The Higbea Embroidery Player of the game was split between Scylea Zolman and Paige Gamby. Congratulations ladies!
