JEWELL – As first reported by Lynn Groll of Black Swamp Football, the Rams have their new gridiron coach for the upcoming season.
The Northeastern Local School Board held a special board meeting Tuesday morning, approving the hiring of Eric Becker as the next football coach of the Tinora Rams.
Becker will take over, and look to maintain and build upon one of the more consistent programs in the area. Over the past two decades, the Rams have gone 106-37 since 2000, including GMC titles in 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2021.
Over that same timeframe, the Rams have been to the OHSAA playoffs 13 times, 2021, 2020, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2004, 2003, 2002
Eric Becker takes over for interim coach Jeff Schliesser and will become the 10th coach in Tinora football history.

Clinker 1982-83 – 4-16
Graher 1984-88 – 21-29
Eicher 1989-93 – 33-17

Schliesser 2022 (interim) 4-2
Becker is a 1998 Tinora graduate and a 1997 DIV V All-Ohio defensive lineman.
Coach Becker served as an assistant under former Rams head coach Kenny Krouse.
