HAMLER – The Lady Patriots of Patrick Henry wasted little time in shaking off the rust on a warm Tuesday night inside “The House of Heat” inside the PH gym.
Despite not playing in the past 11 days, Patrick Henry showed no effects from the break in action as they dominated the Tinora Lady Rams 50-35 in non-conference action.
Coming off a 4 win season in the 2021-’22 campaign, these current Lady Patriots are one of the most improved teams in the area, already equaling their entire win total from last season after defeating Tinora.
Right from the opening tip, the Pats 6′ freshman, Ada Christman, would make her mark. Opening the game with a bucket and a free throw, she was off to an impressive start.
Blocking shots, rebounding on both ends, and bringing the ball up across the timeline, Christman was putting on a show. Christman would end with a game high 14 points, she was joined by another impressive freshman, Carys Crossland. Crossland would finish with nine, despite being limited to just a single point in the first half by the Tinora defense.
After taking a brief 8-6 lead towards the end of the first quarter, the Lady Rams would never lead again. Patrick Henry would lead after one, 10-8.
A dominating defensive effort by the Pats would smother the Lady Rams offense, PH would take a 28-17 lead to the half. Dakota Sines of Tinora would score seven first half points and wind up with double-digit rebounds for the night.
Patrick Henry would increase the temperature on the Lady Rams in the second half, dominating both quarters.
The Lady Pats would grab a 39-26 lead after three, moving on to a 50-35 win over Tinora.
Tinora falls to 3-5. The Lady rams will start GMC conference play on Thursday as they host Edgerton. All THS students will be admitted free.
Patrick Henry Improves to 4-1. The Lady Patriots will host Continental on Thursday.
