As the Tinora Rams hit the field for their second game in six days, the Rams welcomed in the Wauseon Indians for a non-league contest.
After the extra inning loss to Kalida on Monday, the Tinora baseball club looked to rebound in another non-league game before the big showdown on Wednesday vs Wayne Trace.
Tinora trailed 7-3 as they entered the bottom of the fifth inning. The Rams plated four runs to tie the game at 7-7 after five innings of play.
Wauseon grabbed an 8-7 lead with a run in the top of the sixth.
The Rams would rally in the bottom of the seventh. Rams catcher Ty Wiemken lead off the inning with a walk, a second walk would follow to Nolan Schafer. After a failed sacrifice bunt, Tinora’s Cole Commisso would continue his blazing hitting with a rocket off the third basemen’s glove, resulting in an infield hit, scoring on the play was Ty Wiemken to tie the game at 8-8. Jayden Bergman reached on an infield error, loading the bases.
With one out, Tinora senior Casen Wolfrum stepped to the plate. Wolfrum sent an opposite field blooper that landed just fair for a game ending walk off RBI single, scoring Schafer from third. Tinora completed the comeback with a 9-8 win.
Teron Ward, seeing his first action on the season, got the win in relief, pitching 2/3 of an inning.
With the win, Tinora improves to 14-3 and will host Wayne Trace for a share of the GMC title on Wednesday. Please get out and support the boys!
