On a fantastic day for softball, the Tinora Lady Rams and the Leipsic Lady Vikings spent the late morning and early afternoon under the rays of sunshine at the Tinora softball complex.
Both teams were coming in with wins over the Ayersville Pilots, Tinora on Thursday, and Leipsic on Friday.
The Lady Rams brought a 9-3 record to game one, while the Vikings brought in a 7-3 mark.
Tinora sophomore Scylea Zolman was in search of win number nine as she was set to fave the Leipsic lineup.
The Vikings jumped on Zolman for two runs in the first, just one earned. Zolman would shut down the Vikings bats over the next four innings, ending her morning with another win, eight strikeouts to go to 9-1 on the season.
The Lady Rams would bring the lumber to the yard in both games.
In the opener, the Lady Rams would slug four homeruns. Blasts by Tegan Norden, Paige Carpenter, Zolman, and DeVona Holmes would pace the Tinora attack.
DeVona Holmes would be named the Higbea Embroidery Player of the game for her efforts at the plate in game one. Holmes would go 2-4 with a triple and a game ending 2run homerun to increase her RBI totals to 19 through game one.
Congratulations DeVona.
Game two saw neither team go with their ace on the hill. The Lady Rams would send Maren Pittman to the hill, while Leipsic would send freshman Ali Hermiller.
