EDGERTON – As the Lady Rams headed into the regular season finale at Edgerton, the team had a few things that needed to fall in place for a share of the GMC title.
A Tinora win was number one on the agenda, a loss by GMC leaders Ayersville and Fairview were also needed.
The Rams did their part, a convincing 70-34 win to sew up a great regular season, finishing 14-8 and 5-2 in the GMC.
Unfortunately, the other pieces did not fall as both leaders pulled out wins tonight, setting up a winner take all game between Fairview and Ayersville Saturday afternoon at 2pm at Ayersville High School.
Outside an Edgerton 1-0 lead, the Lady Rams basically led wire to wire. The Lady Rams dominated both halves, cruising to win number 14, the most since the 2016 – ’17 season.
Tinora will start sectional play next Wednesday as they will travel to Bluffton High School and take on the Fairview Apaches in the OHSAA Sectional opener, tip time 7:30 pm.
The Higbea Embroidery Player of the game award was shared tonight. Anna Frazier and Addison Lee were co-winners.
Lee has stepped up with 10 points, Addison has played well the past few weeks, while Frazier was on fire in the third quarter, multiple steals and buckets led to Anna’s season high 14 points.
A great regular season by the Lady Rams Varsity and JV teams!! Varsity 14-8, JV 20-2
