Elmwood 48 Tinora 38

The Tinora Lady Rams welcomed in the Elmwood Royals to Tinora High School on a Tuesday night non league contest.

All Elmwood brought with them was a 9-2 record, a state ranking of #11, and oh, one of the better players in NW Ohio, if not all of Ohio in Brooklyn Trash.

Trash entered averaging 21 points per game, 10 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 6.5 steals per game. The Elmwood senior was everything advertised and more.

In one of the more physical games in quite some time at Tinora, several bloody noses, many a bruise, and plenty of skin on the hardwood was laid over the course of 32 minutes.

The Lady Rams trailed after one quarter, 9-3. The lone Tinora bucket was an Anna Gray three point basket.

Tinora battled back despite trailing 17-8 midway through the second quarter. The Lady Rams continued to fight, cutting the lead to just one, at 17-16 with just under one minute to go in the half. Two consecutive Tinora turnovers turned into Elmwood points, the Lady Royals took a 22-16 lead to the half.

Elmwood was led by Brooklyn Trash with 12 at the half, Tinora was led by Anna Gray who has six points in the half.

Quarter three saw more Trash points, and an Elmwood lock tight defense. The Royals swarming defense held Lady Rams leading score Nova Okuley without a point in the contest.
The Lady Rams battled back to take a one point lead, 23-22, early in the third on an Anna Frazier steal and score.
After what was ruled an intentional foul on the Lady Rams, Trasher gave the Lady Royals a lead they would never relinquish again, 24-23 midway through the quarter.
Elmwood increased their lead over the Lady Rams to 35-27 at the end of three.

The final quarter saw Tinora make a mini run, cutting the Elmwood lead to 37-35 with just over four minutes remaining. However, Elmwood senior leader Brooklyn Trash continued to make buckets, scoring eight points over the course of the next 3:30, ending with a game high 27 points with 12 rebounds.

Lady Rams Liv Mueller drained a three, cutting the lead to 40-38 with just over two minutes remaining. The Royals defense paid heavy dividends, forcing several Tinora turnovers down the stretch as the Lady Royals broke free from Tinora late, winning 48-38.

With the loss, Tinora falls to 9-4. The Lady Rams will host Ayersville Thursday in a HUGE GMC showdown. PLEASE get out and support the Ladies!

Elmwood moves to 10-2 with the win. They will play at Rossford on Thursday.
