Lady Rams fall to Bryan, 62-43

Coming off a huge opening night win against a very good Miller City ball club, the Lady Rams looked to see where they stacked up against the top teams in the area, enter the visiting Bryan Golden Bears.

Coming in off a 19-4 season that saw the Golden Bears knocked out of the OHSAA tournament by the eventual State Champs, the Napoleon Lady Wild Cats, this would be a good early season test for the Tinora Lady Rams.

Bryan entered the contest at 1-1, Tinora came in at 1-0.

The Lady Rams jumped out to a very early first quarter lead, 6-1, Bryan fought back to take the lead after the first quarter, 14-11

The second quarter saw more of the Golden Bears flexing their muscles most of the quarter. However, after seeing Bryan jumping to a late second quarter 33-18 lead, the Lady Rams closed the quarter on an 8-0 run, two quick buckets by Emily Harr, and a three pointer to end the quarter cut the Bryan lead to 33-26 as the teams headed to the half. Bryan was led at the half by Delilah Taylor with 10, Nova Okuley paced Tinora with seven at the half.

Tinora cut into the Bryan lead even more to start the third stanza, 33-28. This is where the Lady Rams night took a turn for the worse.
Over the next seven minutes, Bryan outscored Tinora 19-7 to take a 54-33 lead to the fourth quarter. Tinora cut the lead to 46-33 before Bryan ended the quarter on an 8-0 run.

The fourth quarter came and went, with the Lady Rams unable to make much of a dent into the Golden Bears lead throughout the final stanza. Bryan came away with a 62-43 win over the Tinora Lady Rams.

Many bright spots for Tinora in the loss, including freshman Nova Okuley with a team high 15 points on three 3 pointers. However, playing a very talented Golden Bear team, shows the Lady Rams still have much work to do this young season.

With the win, Bryan improves to 2-1.
After the loss, Tinora falls to 1-1. Tinora will head to Delta to take on the Lady Panthers in a Saturday afternoon game, 1pm JV start – We will not cover this game.
