Lady Rams fall to Margaretta, 3-1

LAKE HS (Thursday)

First, I would like to thank all the great people in the Tinora community who helped raise the funds to bring this game live to those who were unable to attend.

Secondly, thanks to TV26 for doing a fantastic job, Randy Roberts, Myles Holliday, and Ken Richer. You three are the best of the best, it was like we were there watching with you. (Myself from Florida)

Unfortunately the Lady Rams came up on the short end Thursday Night, dropping a tough four set match to Margaretta, 3-1.

Margaretta grabbed set one 25-15. The Lady Rams battled back to even the sets at 1-1 by grabbing set two, 25-18.

The next two sets could have gone either way, unfortunately the Polar Bears came away with set three, 25-19, taking a 2-1 set lead.

In what would wind up being the final set, the Lady Rams and Lady Polar Bears both battled before the Polar Bears emerged with a 25-20 forth set victory, coming away with a 3-1 four set victory.

With the win, Margaretta improves to 20-6 and will face Liberty Benton Saturday afternoon from Lake HS, the winner advances to State.

For the Lady Rams of Tinora, a fantastic season comes to an end, the loss ended the Tinora season at 21-5.

In the case of the Lady Rams, sometimes you can give 110% effort and still come up short, in this case, on this day, the better team came away with the win.

The Lady Rams gave Tinora fans lots of excitement in 2021. A 21-5 record, a 7-0 GMC record, and a conference championship. The Lady Rams making it to the Sweet 16 in the OHSAA tournament, thrilling tournament wins over Lake and Archbold at Defiance HS were many highlights during the 2021 season.

And who can ever forget that thrilling regular season finale vs Fairview at Tinora? A packed house saw the Lady Rams rally from being down 0-2, to come away with a thrilling five set win 3-2, bringing the Green Meadows Conference championship back to Tinora.

The Lady Rams will lose a fantastic class of six wonderful seniors, Makenna Reetz, Macey Schlosser, Kjerrstin Scott, Emma Chafins, Brooklyn Reineke, and Quinn Horn.

Enough can’t be said about this class, other than they’ve set the bar high for fellow underclassman, just like the graduating classes had done prior to them.

Thank you, Lady Rams for a fantastic ride. From the fantastic student section, to the Ram Fans who at times seemed to give you that extra push when needed, you made lots of memories that will last forever.
