Lady Rams down Hicksville, will play for GMC Championship

As the 2021 edition of the Lady Rams volleyball squad loaded the busses for Hicksville to take on the Lady Aces in the Red Zone at Hicksville High School, they had one goal in mind, victory.

A win vs Hicksville was needed to keep the Lady Rams hopes alive for a Green Meadows Conference title.

Tinora was heading into the key GMC showdown tonight, bringing with them a 15-4 record, 5-0 in GMC play. The Lady Rams were still red-hot, winning three straight and 11 of 12 matches.

Hicksville was playing great as well, the Lady Aces brought a 15-4 record, and a 3-2 GMC mark. The Lady Aces were riding a two game winning streak, winning 9 of 11 games.

Both teams took the floor looking for an edge. In a high, intense first set, the Lady Rams battled and came out on top, 27-17. With the first set win, the Lady Rams improved to 19-1 overall in the first set.

The second set was all Lady Rams, coming away with a 25-11 win.

The Third set started out with the Lady Aces leading halfway through, but the Tinora Lady Rams battled & rallied, taking a 17-14 lead before closing out the third set 25-18, taking the match 3-0.

With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 16-4, 6-0 in the GMC. This sets up what seem to be the yearly showdown for the GMC title vs the Fairview Lady Apaches.
Heading into tonight vs Ayersville, Fairview was 15-0, and 5-0 in conference play.

The loss drops the Lady Aces to 3-3 in the GMC, 15-6 overall. Hicksville will travel to Antwerp to close out the regular season on Thursday before starting tournament play on Thursday vs the winner of Antwerp/Stryker played on Tuesday.

Tinora is back in action this Thursday at home vs the Lady Apaches.

As always, everyone is expected out Thursday evening to pack the gym and support the Lady Rams in their quest to regain the GMC championship.
