As the 2021 fall sports season heads down the final stretch, the Lady Rams of Tinora was set to host a non conference foe in the Lady Indians of Wauseon on Thursday night.
Prior to the varsity contest, the Tinora coaches, parents, students, and fans were on hand to honor the six seniors of the 2022 graduating class. Honored were Makenna Reetz, Macey Schlosser, Kjerrstin Scott, Emma Chafins, Brooklyn Reineke, and Quinn Horn.
Although the Lady Rams still have one more regular season home game remaining, the Tinora community thanked the six seniors for all their efforts over the years and dedication to the Lady Rams volleyball program.
The evening started out with the Tinora JV classes taking the floor, the Lady Rams came away with a two set victory, sweeping the Indians in two sets, 25-9 & 25-19
After an emotional senior ceremony between games, the Lady Rams gathered themselves, locked back in and looked to remain scalding hot. Tinora entered the contest with a 14-4 record, winning 10 of their last 11 games.
The Indians of Wauseon were coming off a heartbreaking loss to Liberty Center Monday night, however the Indians had won four of five games and entered with an overall 13-5 mark.
As the Tinora pep band pumped energy into the crowd and the Tinora volleyball squad, everyone was ready for the task at hand, another quality Rams victory.
The Lady Rams opened with a first set dominating performance, taking a 1-0 set advantage with a 25-9 win.
The second set was a back and forth, eventually the Lady Rams pulled away late, winning 25-21, taking a 2-0 lead into the third stanza.
Set three was all Tinora as well, the Lady Rams taking the final set, 25-15.
With the win, the Tinora improves to 15-4. The Lady have two huge GMC games upcoming week. On Tuesday, Tinora will travel to Hicksville to take on the Aces, Thursday the Lady Rams will play hosts to the Apaches of Fairview. Tinora needs a win at Hicksville to keep their GMC title hopes alive.
Wauseon falls to 13-5 with the loss, the Indians will play Hilltop on Monday.
