The Rams took their 20-3 record and GMC championship over to face NWOAL champions, the Wauseon Indians. Wauseon came in with a 14-5 record and also finished undefeated in conference play at 7-0.
Tinora couldn’t overcome an early deficit that saw the Indians race out to a quick 3-0 after one inning against Rams starter Casen Wolfrum. The Rams righty settled down, limiting the Indians bats to just two hits over his five innings on the hill. Wolfrum allowed just two earned runs.
Wauseon sent junior Clay Stump and his 4-1 record to the hill vs the hot-hitting Ram lineup.
Stump kept the Rams off balance most of the night, limiting the Rams to just two runs through his 5 innings of work.
Senior Maddux Chamberlin came on to work the final two innings for the Indians of Wauseon.
The Tinora bats came to life in the top of the seventh, scoring four runs before falling to the Indians, 7-6.
The Rams fall to 20-4 and head to Swanton on Thursday as they tune-up for the OHSAA tournament that starts on May 21 for Tinora. The Rams will face the Delta vs Fairview winner at Tinora.
Wauseon improves to 15-5 with the win.
