Ottawa Glandorf 13 Tinora 5 F

The Titans of OG came to visit the Rams of Tinora in what seems to have become the annual post-prom game for the Rams. OG came in at 11-8, on a two-game winning streak, fresh off a 1-0 win Friday night at Lima Shawnee.

The Rams came in off back-to-back walk-off wins, Monday vs Montpelier and Tuesday vs Antwerp, both instant classics wins.

Riding a 12 game winning streak and winning 16 of their last 17 games, the Tinora Rams took the field on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning at Tinora High school. They say all good things must come to an end, and did the Rams winning streak, as the Titans came to Tinora, handling the Rams their first loss since an April 5 loss at Anthony Wayne. The Generals are currently ranked #3 in Div II.

Things were not meant to be as the Titans sent 10 batters to the plate in the top of the first, scoring five runs on three hits. After OG scored two more runs to start the second inning, Rams starter Jayden Bergman was relieved by Jacob Bailey. Bergman went the first inning and a third, giving up seven runs and a very un-Begrman like four walks.

The Titan bats were not ready to be silenced, Head Coach Rick Miller’s Titans scored a single run in the third, three more in the fourth to grab an 11-0 lead over the Rams after four innings.
Jacob Bailey went two and a third innings in relief before being relieved by Kade Vogelsong.

The usual hot rams bats were silenced by Titan started Jacob Balbaugh. Balbaugh brought his 2-1 record and 1.14 ERA to face a Tinora lineup averaging 12 runs a game and a team average of .393.

The Ram bats stayed silent until the bottom of the fourth inning. Tinora scored sent 10 to the plate, scoring five runs on four hits, capped by a Max Grube bases-clearing double. The Grube double cut the Titans lead to 11-5 heading to the top of the fifth inning.

The Titans added two runs in the top of the seventh inning, defeating the Rams 13-5.

Tinora falls to 16-3, OG improves to 12-8.

The Rams head to Archbold on Tuesday before Ayersville comes to Tinora for a makeup game on Friday vs the Pilots. Ottawa Glandorf heads to Defiance Tuesday in a WBL showdown, both teams are 6-1 in WBL play.

A bit of good news for Tinora as the Wayne Trace Raiders knocked off the Antwerp Archers Friday night, 10-5. The loss dropped the Archers to 4-2 in the GMC. A win vs Ayersville Friday would clinch the GMC for the fourth straight year for the Head Coach Brent Renollet and his Rams.
